Red Arrows - at Scampton and Cranwell

Please note. To avoid disappointment I must tell you that all my Red Arrows material pre-dates my retirement in 2001. If you wish to read about the Team's current activities, please visit the official Red Arrows website here (opens in new window).

The Red Arrows stories in this section are in roughly date order. The story of John Rands' This is your Life has a button of its own on the main menu on the left, and there is a separate button for stories which are mainly concerned with RAF Scampton the station.

The images below are from the last hundred or so I took below leaving Scampton at the end of my 11 years with the Red Arrows and my 47 years in RAF uniform. These six were taken in December 2000 as the waterworks and sign-writer departments, and a freelance TV cameraman, were preparing for the return of the Red Arrows from Cranwell to a forlorn-looking No 4 Hangar.
